What is Lumyra?
Lumyra is a mulberry-silk eye mask with a removable therapeutic cooling-gel insert. The gel reaches a sub-zero core after five minutes in the freezer and holds therapeutic cold for about twenty minutes — long enough to ease most migraine episodes, drain puffiness, and reset light-sensitive eyes.
How is it different from a regular sleep mask?
A sleep mask blocks light. Lumyra blocks light AND delivers calibrated cold over the trigeminal nerve, which is the actual mechanism behind migraine relief. The silk-over-gel sandwich also distributes pressure evenly so there are no tight points.
Can I use it without freezing the gel?
Yes. The gel insert is removable, so you can use the silk shell on its own as a light-blocking sleep mask. For migraine and tired-eye relief we recommend the chilled gel.
Is it safe?
Lumyra is made with medical-grade, skin-safe materials. It is a wellness accessory, not a medical device, and it doesn’t diagnose or treat any disease. Consult a healthcare professional if you have a medical condition.
Using it
How long should I wear it?
For migraines and tension headaches: 15–20 minutes with the chilled gel. For tired eyes after screen time: 10 minutes is usually enough. For sleep: as long as you like with the gel removed.
How do I clean it?
The silk shell is spot-clean or hand-wash with cold water and a mild detergent. Air dry flat. The gel insert wipes clean with a damp cloth — do not submerge or machine-wash it.
Can I put it in the microwave for warmth?
We don’t recommend it. The gel is formulated for cold therapy and prolonged heating can degrade the silk binding.
